Job summary

Vaakawi is seeking a Day Time Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility during business hours. The role focuses on high-traffic areas, quick response to cleaning needs, and serving as a courteous ambassador for the facilities team.

Responsibilities include restroom restocking, lobby and breakroom upkeep, spill response, high-touch disinfection, waste management, and exterior checks. 1 year of experience preferred; flexible schedule with full-time and part-time options in Arizona.

Day Time Cleaner

The Day Time Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility during business hours. This role focuses on high-traffic maintenance and rapid response to cleaning needs rather than deep cleaning. The Day Time Cleaner acts as an ambassador for the facilities team, ensuring that restrooms, lobbies, and breakrooms remain pristine for employees and visitors while minimizing noise and disruption to the workflow. The Day Time Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties for Vaakawi. Such responsibilities shall be in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures of Vaakawi.

Job Responsibilities

• Restroom Refreshing: Perform hourly checks of restrooms to restock supplies (soap, paper towels), wipe down counters, and ensure toilets are flushed and clean.
• Common Area Maintenance: Continuously monitor lobbies, cafeterias, and waiting rooms; clear dirty dishes, wipe tables, and arrange furniture.
• Emergency Response: Respond immediately to spills, broken glass, or biohazards to prevent slip-and-fall accidents and maintain safety.
• High-Touch Sanitization: Frequently disinfect elevator buttons, door handles, handrails, and reception desks to reduce the spread of germs.
• Waste Management: discreetly empty overflowing trash or recycling bins in common areas (avoiding loud disruptions in quiet office zones).
• Exterior Checks: Monitor the building entrance for litter or cigarette butts to ensure a positive first impression for visitors.

• Professional Presentation: Must maintain a neat appearance (uniforms often required) and good personal hygiene, as this is a client-facing role.
• Communication & Etiquette: Ability to interact politely with building occupants, understanding when to yield the right-of-way and how to work quietly around meetings.
