Job summary

Metropolitan School District of Warren Township in Liberty Park Elementary School seeks an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students under direct supervision. You will provide basic instruction in reading, writing, math, spelling, and art, guiding students individually and in small groups.

The role requires assisting in lesson preparation, materials, and classroom activities, coordinating with staff, and maintaining student records with accuracy and care.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate’s degree or 60 semester hours, or ParaPro test.
• Experience with school-age children preferred.
• Must pass Expanded Criminal History Check and Expanded Child Protection Index Check; ParaPro assessment offered at no cost.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and ensure safety in the absence of the teacher.
• Assist teachers with supervision and learning activities in classroom.
• Provide instruction and reinforce skills through guided activities and small groups.
• Assist in checking and evaluating student work; support in lesson planning and learning tools.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with laminating, photocopying, and filing.
• Coordinate with media center staff and set up classroom equipment.
• Prepare classroom displays and student work; assist with reports and data entry.
