Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in a GED program.
• Meet paraprofessional requirements for Alaska by a) 48 college credits, b) ETS Paraprofessional Assessment score 459+, c) WorkKeys, or d) ASD training.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with staff, parents, students, and the public.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Prepare class materials as directed by the teacher.
• Set up class projects per teacher guidelines.
• Assist with routine reports and record grades as assigned.
• Check attendance and assist with student discipline as needed.
• Assist with supervision of pupils in lunch and recess periods.
• Support with displaying materials and classroom displays.
