• High school diploma or equivalent, or current GED enrollment.
• Meet Alaska paraprofessional requirements via college credits, exam, or training.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and collaborate with staff, parents, and students.
• Ability to establish professional relationships with staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support in reading, math, and writing under a teacher's supervision.
• Prepare or modify instructional materials as directed by the teacher.
• Collect data aligned to IEP goals as directed by staff.
• Collaborate with colleagues and staff to support students.
• Follow instructions and implement teacher-directed programming and strategies.
• Provide services and supports described in the IEP, including aides and transport assistance when needed.
• Support students in various school settings, including lunch periods and recess per IEP.
• Maintain confidentiality and promote diversity and respectful interaction.
