Job summary

Windsor Public Schools is looking for a Paraeducator to assist certified staff in classrooms, helping students meet instructional goals and stay on task. You will support reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction, working with students individually and in small groups.

You will also help with assessments, materials, and communication with parents, while supporting students with special needs and ensuring a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse learners in classroom settings.
• Ability to document progress and communicate with staff.
• Willingness to assist with daily instructional activities.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, and math.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to support learning.
• Assists staff with administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Prepares instructional materials and strategies for individual needs.
• Assists with record-keeping to document student progress.
• Supports classroom behavior management to keep students on task.
• Supervises non-instructional areas such as lunch, buses, playgrounds, and study halls.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Communicates with parents to foster involvement in student education.
• Supports students with special needs to maximize inclusion.
