Job summary

Windsor Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraeducator to support certified staff in Poquonock Elementary School. You will assist with reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, and work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.

You will also help with classroom preparations, assessments, and behavior management, and accompany students on field trips while supporting non-instructional duties such as lunch and bus supervision.

Qualifications

• Assists students with reading and language arts, math, and computer instruction.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assists with administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments.
• Helps with preparing materials and reinforcing instructional materials for diverse needs.
• Maintains records of student learning and performance as directed.

Responsibilities

• Assists in behavioral management to keep a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervises students in non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground).
• Accompanies students on field trips to support supervision.
• Distributes and uses educational materials as needed.
• Assists with parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Supports students with special needs to maximize inclusion and learning.
