Job summary

Atlas Public Schools is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher in delivering instruction and maintaining a joyful, rigorous, and safe classroom environment. The role includes supervising students during non-instructional times, assisting with intersession programming, and collaborating with families and staff to support student success.

Requirements include a high school diploma (associate’s or bachelor’s preferred) and a substitute teaching certificate; experience with children

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Experience working with children in school or youth settings preferred.
• Substitute teaching certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teacher with daily instruction in small- and whole-group settings.
• Reinforce academic skills through guided practice and enrichment activities.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, arrival, and dismissal.
• Maintain a positive, safe classroom aligned with Atlas culture and behavior expectations.
• Prepare classroom materials and organize learning space.
