Job summary

Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston is seeking an Instructional Teacher's Aide at Holy Ghost Catholic School to assist certified staff with students in the classroom. The role supports reading, language arts, math, and instructional activities to help meet learning objectives and to free teachers for planning and curriculum work.

The aide will work with students individually or in small groups, assist with assessments, manage materials, and help maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and basic coursework or test as required by NCLB.
• Prior experience with special needs students is desirable.
• Ability to assist certified staff in classroom activities and programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, language arts and math.
• Support students individually or in small groups.
• Assist with tests, assessments and classroom exercises.
• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce lessons.
• Record student progress and assist with behavioral management.
• Supervise in non-instructional areas and during field trips.
• Support parent communication and inclusivity for students with special needs.
