Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks an Instructional Assistant to support teachers in instructional activities and classroom operations. The role includes preparing materials, reinforcing skills, and assisting individual students or small groups to meet learning goals.

The IA will collaborate with licensed staff, participate in district professional development, and help maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment while protecting student confidentiality and FERPA requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with Google Apps for document collaboration.
• Ability to apply basic instructional strategies in support of classroom teaching.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in instructional activities and classroom management.
• Prepare materials and reinforce concepts as directed by teachers.
• Support individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Participate in staff development and implement educational interventions as needed.
