We’re looking for a warm, organized, and education-minded individual to join our team as a
Classroom Support Assistant at Escuela del Sol! This vital role supports teachers and students (ages 18 months to 14 years), helping to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across classrooms.
Escuela del Sol Montessori, is a Social-Profit (501c3) Montessori School based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The school is unique in its child-center approach and the robust community outreach programs offered through its Harwood Art Center. “Escuela”, as it’s fondly called, has been central to the community’s educational offerings for over 50 years. Escuela del Sol has programs for children from toddler through adolescence; the Harwood serves people of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
· Schedule and coordinate substitute teachers, including for last-minute coverage
· Maintain and update sub notes and classroom routines
· Step into classrooms or onto the playground as needed to provide direct support
· Help orient and support substitute teachers
· Uphold confidentiality and clear communication across the school community
· Embrace and model Montessori and Positive Discipline principles
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
· Experience assisting or teaching in classrooms
· Enjoyment of working with a wide age range of students
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Interest in Montessori education
