Job summary

St. Francis Xavier Catholic School System, Human Resources, seeks an Instructional Aide to support the principal and teaching staff, enhancing classroom operations and campus life. This role requires collaboration with teachers to foster student growth within a Catholic educational environment.

You will proctor assessments, assist with instructional needs, handle clerical tasks, supervise during transitions, and protect confidential records while promoting teamwork across the school community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid/CPR/AED Certification, or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to adapt and reprioritize tasks as needed.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong commitment to student-centered learning and academic excellence in a Catholic School System.
• Proficient in using technology including hardware, software and applications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of administration.
• Demonstrates teamwork skills with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Submission to a legal background check.

Responsibilities

• Proctor assessments for students with Learning Services in need of testing accommodations. Assist with coordination of test proctoring.
• Assist teaching staff in the instructional needs of students, working both in the classroom with the teachers and students as needed to ensure their maximum academic development.
• Support other staff with clerical duties, including faxing, copying, and internal deliveries, as needed.
• Provide general campus support as directed by the principal, including cafeteria supervision, among other duties.
• Safeguard confidential records and inquire in a professional manner.
• Collaborate with colleagues to promote positive teamwork.
• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of services, and suggest changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.
• Supervise students during transitions between classes and special events as needed. Ensuring the health and safety of students, equipment and facilities by implementing appropriate precautions
• Represent Xavier Catholic Schools professionally in interactions with stakeholders, including parents, community members, staff and students.
