Job summary

Cypress-Fairbanks ISD is seeking an Instructional Aide to support teachers in preparing instructional materials, supervising students, and maintaining an orderly classroom. The role includes assisting with testing, organizing displays, and supervising during lunch, bus, and recess.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, be able to lift up to 50 pounds, and demonstrate good communication and a professional appearance. The position is part of a 187-day calendar with IP-2 pay level.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with children is preferred.
• Must be flexible and able to adjust daily routine.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
• Physically able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment, books and supplies.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students during the school day, including lunchroom, bus and playground duty.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal or supervisor.
• Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
