Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Flexibility to adjust daily routine.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Professional appearance and attitude.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• One of: 48 college credits, associate degree, or CFISD proficiency test score 70+.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and displays.
• Help with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care and maintenance of equipment, books and supplies.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises with individual students or small groups.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus and playground.
• Inform teacher of special needs or problems of students.
• Participate in staff development and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular attendance is essential.
