Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking a Support Staff/Teacher Assistant at Haledon Public School. Rolling interviews to support certified staff and advance instructional goals.

You will assist students in reading, math, and language arts, work with individuals and small groups, and help with assessments, materials, and classroom routines.

Responsibilities include supervising lunch, buses, field trips, and other non-instructional duties, with emphasis on student inclusion and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework or passing of examination as required by NCLB Act.
• Experience with special needs students desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction and other skills.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist in administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce skills according to student needs.
• Maintain documentation of student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavior management to minimize disruptions and keep students on task.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, study hall).
• Accompany students on field trips for supervision.
• Support parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Assist students with special needs to maximize inclusion and achievement.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed.
