Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an individual to assist the Special Education Teacher in implementing academic and social-emotional programming for assigned students. You will support behavior plans and collect data within a psychiatric setting, under supervision, while upholding compassion, accountability, respect and excellence.

Responsibilities include data collection, reporting, and participation in team meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in education or related human service field.
• Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel.
• Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.
• Experience with children; ability to work in a psychiatric setting.
• Ability to perform de-escalation and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist in social-emotional and behavioral programming per IEPs.
• Provide academic support as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Collect and manage data on student functioning.
• Prepare and present reports on social-emotional functioning.
• Attend team meetings and report to supervisor.
• Follow Bradley Schools policies and procedures.
• Assist in daily living activities and potential physical management.
• Submit required paperwork for student records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
