Job summary

Sylvania in Michigan is seeking an instructional assistant to support classroom instructors and help develop and present learning materials and exercises.

You will assist academically at-risk students in both group and one-on-one settings, communicate effectively with staff, and contribute to a positive learning environment. This role requires two years of college credit or an Associate degree, or passage of a state-approved test, with a Michigan teaching certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have at least two years of college credit or an Associate degree, or pass a state-approved test.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to assist academically at-risk students in a classroom and tutoring context.
• Ability to assist the classroom instructor with learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Experience working with students.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom instructor with development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises.
• Communicate and work with individual classroom instructors.
• Support students and tutoring activities as needed.
• Assist academically at-risk students in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
