Job summary

Sylvania seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to assist certified staff in classrooms, reinforcing reading, language arts, math, and computer skills. You will work with students individually and in small groups, support assessments, and help maintain records of progress.

The role includes supervision duties during lunch, bus, playground, field trips, and other areas, with focus on safety and inclusion. You will contribute to inclusion efforts for students with special needs, participate in IEP

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework completed or passing of No Child Left Behind Act exam.
• Experience with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, computer instruction and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
• Assist staff with administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare materials and reinforce instructional strategies for individual needs.
• Maintain records documenting student learning and performance.
