Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant (IA) to support classroom teachers and students across elementary, middle, or high school levels at a school site.

The role focuses on instructional support, administrative tasks, collaboration with teachers, and implementing strategies to reinforce skills, with a Monday–Friday schedule and potential after-hours events.

Qualifications

• Must meet education/training requirements for TITLE I schools.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities that implement the total school program and supports teachers in instructional activities.
• Aids teachers with planning, organizing, evaluating instructional activities, and preparing materials.
• Demonstrates professional and technical skills to support the school program.
• Works with individual students or groups in different areas as needed.
• Participates in district staff development and professional growth.
• Maintains a positive disposition and good judgment with students at all times.
• May perform vision/hearing screenings and enter results in EASi system.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
