Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support classroom teachers, assist in instructional activities, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment for students.

This noncertified IA works under licensed teachers, collaborates with staff, and assists with lesson preparation, supervision, and student support across elementary, middle or high school settings; some evenings/workdays as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Education/experience requirements may vary by school level.
• ESSA Title I requirements may apply at some schools.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instructional activities and classroom management.
• Prepare materials and ensure supplies are available for lessons.
• Support in planning and implementing strategies for diverse learners.
• Work with individual students or groups as directed by teachers.
• Participate in staff development and school activities.
• Maintain student safety and confidentiality according to FERPA.
