Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus one of the following: 60 credits or Praxis or rigorous academic assessment.
• Ability to instruct reading, writing and mathematics.
• Knowledge of reading readiness and math readiness instruction.
• Desire to assist students in a learning environment.
• Emotional maturity and stability for this role.
• General clerical skills; computer data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, vocational and developmental assistance to students with differentiated learning styles under supervision of a certified professional.
• Assist with preparation and implementation of learning activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student activities and behaviors; may use a computer to enter data, complete forms, schedules and reports.
• Respond to crisis intervention requests under direction of certified personnel.
• Assist students who need help learning a concept; support with administering tests and grading assignments.
• Provide one-to-one tutoring and small-group reinforcement of materials and skills.
• Assist staff in devising strategies to reinforce learning for individual students.
