Job summary

The classroom aide supports the Head Start Center's operations through a variety of responsibilities. These duties include general maintenance of food service areas and assisting center staff with classroom activities. The Area Service Manager oversees this role.

• Maintain all classrooms, kitchens, and bathrooms.
• Wash dishes and dispose of trash.
• Assist the teacher with classroom activities and decorations.
• Rotate to centers as needed.
• Assist with outdoor activities and supervision.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
• Performs any other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Occasionally

• Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.
• Driving a County vehicle or a personal vehicle for County business.
• Working in low temperatures.
• Working in high temperatures.
• Working in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind.
• Working in noisy environments.
• Working in small and/or enclosed spaces.
• Working in adverse environmental conditions is expected.

Other Requirements/Information

• Must have a Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation that is properly insured. *If the applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver’s License must be obtained prior to employment.
