Pay rates vary by position, with hourly wages ranging from $18.40 to $21.87, and benefits offered upon hire including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.

Job Summary

Classified substitutes work in various classified positions on a temporary, as-needed basis. There is no set number of hours or days guaranteed as a substitute. Substitutes must actively substitute to remain on the substitute list.

Compensation

Pay varies by position. Below is the hourly pay rate for 2025-2026:

• Paraeducator, Special Programs (Special Needs) $21.34
• Paraeducator, Special Education Instruction $20.31
• Paraeducator, Classroom Assistant $18.40
• Student Monitor (Lunchroom/Recess) $18.40
• Campus Security/Operations $21.87
• Office Work (depends upon the assignment)

Roles and Responsibilities

Classified substitutes primarily cover paraprofessionals for Special Education and Special Programs. We also offer substitutes for Campus Security, Student Monitor, Media Clerk, and paraprofessionals for classrooms and preschool. Substitutes cannot be hired as both a Certified Substitute Teacher and Classified Substitute Paraprofessional.
