Job summary

Siletzvalleyschools is seeking a CLASSIFED SUBSTITUTE (Educational Assistant, Secretarial, Custodian, Food Service, etc.) to substitute for active staff across roles. The position requires following instructions, supervising students, and maintaining confidentiality while supporting district operations.

Responsibilities include supervising students in hallways and on playgrounds, assisting with total-care tasks, and ensuring safety and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience supervising or assisting children preferred.
• Knowledge of instructional procedures preferred for positions working with children.

Responsibilities

• Work harmoniously with and communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Patrol halls, cafeteria, lavatories and supervise students outdoors during recess and bus loading/unloading.
• Remain in assigned classroom until all students are dismissed for the day.
• Assist with students requiring total care (feeding, lifting, toileting, cleaning).
• Assist students with behavioral difficulties or who may be verbally/physically aggressive.
• Maintain confidentiality and report safety hazards.
• Sanitize desks, tables and related items as directed.
• Comply with district, state, local and federal laws and regulations.
• Interact courteously with students, staff and community.
• Arrange classroom furniture as directed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

CLASSIFED SUBSTITUTE (Educational Assistant, Secretarial, Custodian, Food Service, etc.)

POSITION PURPOSE: This position includes subbing for active employees who are not able to work for various reasons. All substitutes are expected to perform the work requested by the District in which they are placed.

QUALIFICATION: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• High School Diploma Required.
• Knowledge of tutorial/instructional procedures preferred for positions working with children.
• Experience supervising or assisting children preferred for position working with children.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions
