Position Overview

C&S Wholesale Grocers desires to create the most safe, efficient, and service-forward fleet in the country. As a Professional Driver with C&S Wholesale Grocers, you will start your driving career with the company by working with a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT) who will provide coaching and insight on the C&S Way, including company and regulatory requirements. After completing the new hire training program, you will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through deliveries of product and services while performing all other assigned duties. All functions must be completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Job Description

1st shift, Monday–Friday, with some weekends. Starting Pay: $33 per hour. $6K Sign-on BONUS. Company Matched 401k. Benefits available from day 1 (medical, dental, vision). EXPERIENCED Class A Delivery Driver, will work in warehouse as well (inventory, loading, unloading, returns, credits, paperwork).

Responsibilities

• Utilize the specialized skills developed with experience and the C&S Professional Driver Training Program to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle (e.g., semi-truck) and deliver product safely, applying knowledge of training and driving regulations.
• Load and unload (ambient or temperature-sensitive) product to customers, averaging 3–10 stops per day.
• Inspect, document, and ensure equipment is operable in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Inspect equipment in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Travel required: Yes.

• Warehouse: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F)

Qualifications

• DOT Certified, Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Valid Department Of Transportation (DOT) Physical Exam
• DOT certification with all qualification requirements
• Quality and customer-service focused; ability to work with people
• Comply with FMCSR/DOT/Company policies and procedures

Experience

• 1–2 years: Minimum 1 year of recent tractor-trailer experience
• 1–2 years: Experience supporting a large Enterprise Storage environment
• 1–2 years: One year of recent CMV experience or completion of an approved CDL truck driving school
