The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is seeking a Class B Driver to support deliveries and pickups for partners and pantries in San Francisco and Marin counties. You will drive food bank vehicles, perform daily warehouse tasks, and help ensure accurate paperwork and documentation.

Requirements include a valid California Class B Driver’s License with air brake endorsement, at least 1 year of local driving experience, and strict adherence to DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Drive San Francisco food bank vehicles to fulfill donation pickups and deliveries.
• Complete related paperwork and route/dispatch communications.
• Perform daily warehouse duties including receiving, storage, and order pulling.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment logs and conduct routine maintenance checks.
• Assist with safety and cleanliness of the facility as needed.

Visit sfmfoodbank.org to learn more.Who You Are:To excel in this position, you will need to approach the work with the following habits and values:You are a professional driver in possession of a valid California Class B Drivers’ License with air brake endorsementYou can work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environmentYou are a good communicator, responding and reporting with dispatch throughout the dayYou can lift up to 50 poundsYou are passionate about our mission to end hungerCare for SF-Marin Food Bank equipmentWhat You Would Be Accountable for:The Class B Driver will be responsible for the following key pieces of work:The Class B Driver is needed at our San Francisco facility to help provide additional support in food deliveries and pickups to our partners and pantries in San Francisco and Marin counties.What You Would Be Doing Right Now:Use of issued electronic Tablet for routing and cell phones for communicating with DispatchDrive commercial Food Bank vehicles (diesel and electric) to accomplish all donation pick-ups, product deliveries, Emergency Food Box delivery, and food drive barrel delivery/pick-upPerform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loadedDrive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and delivery scheduleUse material handling equipment (stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner to perform all daily warehouse duties: receiving, storage, agency order pulling, salvage, produce sorting, and receivingMaintain vehicle preventative maintenance logsMaintain an organized and sanitary facilityMonitor equipment condition and maintain equipment logsPerform other duties and tasks as assignedAbility to maintain a clean driving record with a high level of safety awareness on the roadwaysWhat Else You Should Know:All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered.
