The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is looking for a Class B Driver to join our Marin operations team. You will drive Food Bank trucks to make prompt deliveries and pickups, complete paperwork, and perform daily warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a California Class B license with air brake endorsement, the ability to lift 50 pounds, a clean driving record, and at least one year of Bay Area driving experience; forklift/pallet jack experience is a plus.

Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking operations team, reporting to the Associate Director of Marin Operations.The Class B Driver will drive Food Bank trucks to make prompt deliveries and pick-ups of donations and complete the related paperwork in a timely fashion and perform daily warehouse duties as assigned.Who We Are:Our mission is to end hunger in San Francisco and Marin.We envision a community free of the root causes of hunger, where everyone has access to nutritious food of their choosing and is uplifted by a network of support. Every week, over 53,000 households count on us for food assistance. 60% of what we distribute is fresh fruits and vegetables.Who You Are:To excel in this position, you will need to approach the work with the following habits and values:You are a professional driver in possession of a valid California Class B Drivers’ License with air brake endorsement.You can work and interact well with individuals (staff and volunteers) from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds in a culturally diverse environment.You can lift up to 50 pounds.You are passionate about our mission to end hunger.Care for SF-Marin Food Bank equipment.What You Would Be Accountable for:The Class B Driver will be responsible for the following key pieces of work:The Class B Driver is needed at our Marin facility to help provide additional support in food deliveries and pickups to our partners and pantries in Marin county.What You Would Be Doing Right Now:Use of issued electronic Tablet for routing and cell phones for communicating with Dispatch.Drive commercial Food Bank vehicles to accomplish all donation pick-ups, product deliveries, Emergency Food Box delivery, and food drive barrel delivery/pick-up.Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded.Drive to and deliver customer orders according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule.Use material handling equipment (stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) in a safe manner to perform all daily warehouse duties: receiving, storage, agency order pulling, salvage, produce sorting, and receiving.Maintain vehicle preventative maintenance logs.Maintain an organized and sanitary facility.Monitor equipment condition and maintain equipment logs.Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.Ability to maintain a clean driving record with a high level of safety awareness on the roadways.What Else You Should Know:All internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered. Applications submitted after 10 days are still welcome but may not be reviewed or afforded an interview, depending on the status of the selection process.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:One year driving experience in the bay area preferred. Previous warehouse experience a plus. Must be fully aware and accountable to ALL Federal Motor Carrier and DOT Regulations.KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Clean driving record. Maintenance of California Commercial Driver’s License. Attendance required at company and sponsored training sessions and meetings relating Safety and Satisfactory completion of the Company’s Driver’s Road Test EvaluationCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Class B Driver’s License with air brake endorsementPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position is set in a warehouse environment.
