Job summary

American Welding and Gas (AWG) is seeking a Delivery Driver with a CDL-B license to join their Huntsville, AL team. This role moves and delivers cylinders safely, adheres to SOPs, and complies with DOT/OSHA regulations. A $1500 sign-on bonus is available.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading cylinders, preparing shipping papers, operating pallets jacks, and maintaining vehicle cleanliness. High school graduate; Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements preferred; ability to obtain them required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Class A CDL required with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsements or the ability to obtain both endorsements.
• Able to read and write English.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders.

• Load and unload cylinder transfers onto trucks and trailers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties

• Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Comply with all DOT+OSHA Regulations.
• Moves, loads, and unloads empty/full cylinders safely and efficiently.
• Ensures appropriate preparation and/or completion and accuracy of paperwork including but not limited to shipping papers and delivery tickets.
• Maintains cleanliness of vehicle.
• Transfer cylinders and cylinder bundles onto pallets for storage or delivery.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to move materials.
• Load and unload cylinder transfers onto trucks and trailers, following provided load lists.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Lifting, bending, twisting, climbing, crouching, kneeling.
• Driving vehicle.
• Repetitive movement.
• Operating motorized equipment.
• Sitting; standing; walking.
• Working at increased noise levels.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Class A CDL Required with Hazmat and Airbrake endorsement or the ability to obtain both endorsements.
• Able to read and write English.
• Able to move compressed gas and liquid cylinders; Lift 50-75 pounds frequently and maneuver 100+ pound cylinders (rolling, using a cart, etc.).
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, Back Assessment and company administered road test.
• Ability to communicate with customers Drug Free work environment.
