Job summary

Interstate Waste Services in Stamford, CT is hiring CDL B rear-load garbage truck drivers. Enjoy an early start at 4am or 5am with no overnights and a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional Saturdays.

Earn $26.00–$33.00 per hour and receive a full benefits package including PTO. Candidates must have 1 year of rear-load CDL experience within the last 7 years, a valid Class A or B CDL with airbrake endorsement, and the ability to drive a manual transmission.

Qualifications

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL.
• Airbrake Endorsement.
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver for a refuge company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA regulations.
• Ability to read and write English to converse with the public and make entries on reports.

Responsibilities

• Operate rear-loading trucks safely for pickup of bins and/or toters.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer or recycling facilities; may make multiple trips.
• Deploy both manual and automatic trucks.
• Driver pre/post inspections and ensure truck safety per IWS policies and DOT/OSHA regulations.

Essential Job Summary:

• Driversare Responsible for Safely Operating Rear-Loading Trucks, for the Pick-Up Service of Bins and/or Toters Filled with Waste or Recyclable Material.

• Drivers Transport the Material to a Disposal, Transfer or Recycling Facility, & May Make One or More Trips Throughout the Shift

• We Deploy Both Manual & Automatic Trucks

• The Driver Position May Be Required to Repeatedly Lift up to 50 Pounds, & Move & Maneuver up to 100 Pounds, As Well As Mount & Dismount the Truck Multiple Times Every Route

• Routes may require Drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.

• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential to successfully perform this job.

• Our drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.

• Driver pre and post inspectionsrequired. Driversare responsible forensuring their truck follows IWS’s safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and whileoperatingthe vehicle

Requirements and Qualifications:
