Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking a Class A driver for the Des Moines/Shakopee locations to transport medical waste containers between sites. The role offers autonomy, stable hours, overtime potential, and strong benefits.

You will operate up to 53ft tractors, maintain safety, perform pre-trip checks, load and unload, and deliver on schedule while providing solid customer service. 40 hours weekly with occasional Friday overtime.

Qualifications

• Delivery experience in a 53ft tractor trailer.
• Clean driving record and DOT compliance experience.
• Proactive with loading/unloading and heavy lifting.
• Flexibility and strong customer focus.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused CLASS A driver for our Des Moines/Shakopee location. The driver will be transporting sharps and medical waste containers between our locations for disposal.This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits.

The above schedule would provide a driver with a 42–45-hour work week. Friday could run on an as needed basis on pure overtime but would be another round trip from DSM to Shakopee and returning if it was needed.

What will your job involve?

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at designated locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 53ft tractor trailers)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting!

What are we looking for?

• Delivery experience within a 53ft tractor trailer
• Driving within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Clean driving record
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
