Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking a Class A driver for our Shakopee/Des Moines location. The driver will transport sharps and medical waste containers between locations, offering autonomy with stable hours and good benefits.

The role includes heavy lifting, DOT compliance, and deliveries in a 53ft tractor trailer, with a typical 40-hour week and potential overtime. Training and PPE are provided to ensure safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A license with Hazmat endorsement is required.
• Experience delivering to hospitals or healthcare facilities preferred.
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Responsibilities

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing medical waste containers at designated locations.
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships.
• Operating vehicles up to 53ft tractor trailers in a safe manner.
• Completing deliveries to time schedule and communicating scheduling changes.
• Loading and unloading and organizing truck per schedule.
• Maintaining DOT compliance, logging hours and performing roadside inspections.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused CLASS A driver for our Shakopee/Des Moines location. The driver will be transporting sharps and medical waste containers between our locations for disposal. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits.

The above schedule would provide a driver with a 42–45-hour work week. Friday could run on an as needed basis on pure overtime but would be another round trip from DSM to Shakopee and returning if it was needed.

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at designated locations

• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 53ft tractor trailers)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting!
• Delivery experience within a 53ft tractor trailer
• Driving within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Clean driving record
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
• Job stability – as an essential service to healthcare we are a non-seasonal and stable business
• Consistent work hours – Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (7AM Start/flexible)
