Job summary

Daniels Health in Shakopee, MN seeks a Class A driver to transport medical waste containers between Shakopee and Des Moines locations. The role offers autonomy, stable hours, OT potential and solid benefits.

You will operate long 53ft tractors, maintain safety, and uphold DOT compliance. The schedule features a Monday–Friday work week with multiple routes across IA, WI, and MN, starting around 7 AM, with paid overtime possible, and a focus on reliable on-time deliveries and strong customer

Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused CLASS A driver for our Shakopee/Des Moines location. The driver will be transporting sharps and medical waste containers between our locations for disposal. This role offers a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to some OT and good benefits.

The above schedule would provide a driver with a 42-45 hour work week. Friday could run on an as needed basis on pure overtime but would be another round trip from DSM to Shakopee and returning if it was needed.

What will your job involve?

• Safely collecting, delivering and storing our medical waste containers at designated locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Operating vehicles in a safe manner (as large as 53ft tractor trailers)
• Completing deliveries to time schedule, and clearly communicating changes or challenges as they arise
• Loading and unloading | Prioritizing and organizing your truck per schedule and needs
• Managing a route per leaderships direction | delivering timely, efficient and effective service
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Heavy lifting!

What are we looking for?

• Delivery experience within a 53ft tractor trailer
• Driving within any industry where you have dealt with manual handling
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Clean driving record
• A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
• Proven longevity in past employment
• On time delivery practices
