Job summary

American StaffCorp in Tulsa, OK seeks an experienced welder/fitter to join our shop team. You will read drawings, lay out parts, and fit components for waste heat recovery equipment built to ASME Code. Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, FCAW and NDT testing is required.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing, can pass X-ray/NDT exams, and works well in a high-precision, codes-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret and understand welding drawings and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic and advanced math calculations.
• Layout, cut, fit and tack pressure and non-pressure parts to included cylinders and tubesheets.
• Experience with FCAW, SMAW and GTAW welding processes; NDT knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and apply welding procedures and drawings.
• Layout, cut, fit and tack components to meet tolerances.
• Weld in all positions (Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead).
• Follow ASME Code, company and client requirements.
• Perform other shop tasks as needed; pass X-ray and other NDT methods.

JOB DESCRIPTION Days: Monday - Thursday Hours: 6:00am - 4:30pm, Friday and Saturday overtime as needed 6:00am - 2:15pm

Pay: $34 - 36 DOE

Products: Waste heat recovery equipment designed and built to ASME Code: waste heat and process gas boilers (firetube boilers, watertube boilers), steam drums, economizers, superheaters, Pressure Vessels

WELD TEST(s)

• Welding: 6\" Sch 80 6G GTAW Stringer / Hot Pass, SMAW Fill and Cap.
• 3G FCAW 1/2\" Plate test
• Fitter Test

REQUIREMENTS

• Read, interpret, and understand drawings and welding procedure requirements.
• Perform basic and advanced math functions.
• Ability to Layout, Cut, Fit and Tack pressure and non-pressure parts. Including but not limited to cylinders, nozzles, tubes, tubesheets, headers, structural components,
• Utilize leveling equipment to ensure orientation accuracy.
• Experience in Flux Core (FCAW), Stick (SMAW), and Tig (GTAW).
• Submerged arc welding a plus but not required.
• Weld in all positions (Flat, Horizontal, Vertical, Overhead).
• Must be able to Pass X-rays and other Non-Destructive testing methods.
• Variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials: Carbon, Stainless, Chrome, and Nickel Alloys.
• Proficient using Carbon arc gouge and cutting torch.
• All work must meet ASME Code, Company and Client Requirements.
• Perform other shop labor tasks as needed.
• 5 Plus years of experience in a manufacturing setting required.
