Job summary

Bunzl Distribution NA is seeking an experienced Class A CDL driver for a Sacramento-based route to Reno, three days a week. You will drive a tractor-trailer, perform inspections, ensure timely deliveries, and maintain accurate logs while upholding safety standards.

Home nightly with a schedule starting at 4am. The role emphasizes independence, strong customer service, and safe cargo handling with a modern fleet and benefits package.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• Ability to pass background check, drug tests, and maintain a valid medical card.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and load/unload cargo.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• At least 2 years driving experience preferred, long-haul a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a Class A tractor-trailer on Sacramento–Reno route.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods to customer locations in a timely and safe manner.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain logs and paperwork accurately and on time.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading and ensure items are secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Report vehicle issues promptly to management.

Job description

Sacramento to Reno Route. Experienced with snow conditions and elevation changes. Delivers to the Reno area from Sacramento 3 days a week.

Home every night. Works independently, no interaction with warehouse.

Start time: 4am | This position is based in Sacramento.

A Day in the Life

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
• Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.

The Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to pass background check, drug tests, and maintain an active medical card.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance

Preferred Requirements

• At least 2 years of Driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.
