Job summary

Bunzl in Sacramento is seeking a Class A CDL driver for the Sacramento–Reno route, delivering to Reno three days weekly. Start time is 4am; home every night. You will safely drive, inspect, and deliver goods locally and long-distance, while adhering to safety rules and company policies.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and clean driving record.
• Ability to operate and navigate Class A tractors and trailers.
• Capable of lifting up to 30 pounds and load/unload cargo.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and DOT/ELD compliance.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug tests; active medical card.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods to customer locations, local and long-distance.
• Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading and ensure items are safely secured.
• Report vehicle issues to management promptly.

Description

Sacramento to Reno Route. Experienced with snow conditions and elevation changes. Delivers to the Reno area from Sacramento 3 days a week.

Home every night. Works independently, no interaction with warehouse.

Start time: 4am | This position is based in Sacramento.

A Day in the Life

• Safely drive and operate a Class A tractor-trailer or other commercial vehicles.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
• Deliver goods in a timely and safe manner to customer locations, both local and long-distance.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain a clean driving record and ensure timely submission of logs and paperwork.
• Manage cargo loading/unloading, ensuring items are safely secured.
• Ensure the vehicle is properly maintained, reporting any issues to management immediately.

The Must-Haves

• Valid Class A CDL.
• A clean driving record, based on our fleet safety standards.
• Ability to operate and navigate a variety of commercial vehicles.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and handle loading/unloading responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best driving practices.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to pass background check, drug tests, and maintain an active medical card.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and ELD compliance

Preferred Requirements

• At least 2 years of Driving experience.
• Experience with GPS and routing software.
