Job summary

Estes-Express-Lines in Columbus, OH, is seeking a CDL-A professional to operate tractor-trailer equipment and deliver freight safely. You will comply with FMCSA regulations, perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintain compliance records.

The role may include over-the-road work and dock duties as needed. Candidates must have a valid Class A CDL, HazMat/Tanker/Doubles endorsements, and be eligible to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent background.
• 21 years of age per FMCSA regulations (1 year driving experience).
• Must possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Must be registered with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Must reside within 75 miles of the domiciled Service Center and/or work assignment.
• HazMat, Tanker and Doubles endorsements required.
• Must be able to drive a tractor trailer per FMCSA requirements.
• Stable employment history preferred.
• Ability to lift approx. 70 lbs. or more when required by job.
• Must pass FMCSA medical exam and road test.
• Must meet FMCSA English reading/speaking requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate all types of equipment safely to perform required functions.
• Transport freight in compliance with FMCSA laws and regulations.
• Follow safety and security protocols for equipment and cargo.
• Maintain required records and comply with regulations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to Fleet Services.
• Operate in-cab technology as needed.
• Work varied schedules including dock duties when required.
• Possibly over-the-road runs as business needs dictate.
• Provide professional service to customers and the public.
