Job summary

Daniels Health & Sharpsmart is seeking a safety‑minded driver with a Class A license to collect and deliver medical waste across Austin to Houston. You will ensure on‑time deliveries, maintain compliance with DOT regulations, and provide exceptional customer service at healthcare locations.

The role involves operating up to a 53 ft tractor trailer, loading/unloading, and handling heavy carts while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• Class A license with a clean driving record and valid DOT medical card.
• Minimum 3 years' experience operating straight trucks/53 ft trailers.
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
• Strong customer service mindset and longevity in past roles.

Responsibilities

• Operate straight truck/tractor trailer up to 53 ft safely.
• Collect, deliver and store medical waste containers at customer sites.
• Provide strong customer service and build customer relationships.
• Complete deliveries to schedule and communicate changes clearly.
• Load/unload and organize your truck per schedule.
• Comply with DOT regulations and logging hours; perform inspections.
• Push/pull a 200 lb cart.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver with a Class A license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across Austin to Houston Texas. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

What will your job involve?

• Operating straight truck/tractor trailer up to 53ft in a safe manner


• Safely collect, deliver and store our medical waste containers at customer locations


• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships


• Completing deliveries to time schedule and clearly communicating changes


• Loading and unloading and organizing your truck per schedule needs


• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections


• Pushing/pulling a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs!!

What are we looking for?

• Class A license with a clean driving record and VALID DOT MEDICAL CARD


• Minimum 3 years experience operating straight truck/tractor trailer up to 53ft


• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse


• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations


• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections


• Can-do attitude with a strong customer focus


• Proven longevity in past employment


• TOUCH FREIGHT EXPERIENCE!!!
