Job summary

Daniels Health is seeking a motivated driver in Austin to operate a 53 ft straight truck/tractor trailer and handle medical waste collection and deliveries with a focus on safety and service.

You will maintain DOT compliance, complete pre-trip inspections, and provide outstanding customer service while meeting delivery schedules. This full-time role offers steady hours and benefits as part of Daniels Health & Sharpsmart.

Qualifications

• Must have Class A license with a clean driving record and valid DOT medical card.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating straight trucks/tractor trailers up to 53 ft.
• Pass 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse.
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections.
• Customer-focused, reliable, and with a can-do attitude.
• Demonstrated longevity in prior employment.
• Touch freight experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 53 ft straight truck/tractor trailer safely.
• Collect and deliver medical waste containers from customer locations.
• Provide strong customer service and build relationships.
• Deliver on time and communicate route and schedule changes.
• Load/unload and organize the truck per schedule.
• Comply with DOT regulations and document hours and inspections.
• Push/pull up to 200 lbs with a four-wheeled cart.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer focused driver with a Class A license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across Austin to Houston Texas. You will be collecting sharps and medical waste containers from our healthcare customer locations and delivering a high level of customer service daily.

What will your job involve?

• Operating straight truck/tractor trailer up to 53ft in a safe manner
• Safely collect, deliver and store our medical waste containers at customer locations
• Providing strong customer service and building positive customer relationships
• Completing deliveries to time schedule and clearly communicating changes
• Loading and unloading and organizing your truck per schedule needs
• Complying with DOT regulations, logging hours and roadside inspections
• Pushing/pulling a four-wheeled cart that weighs as much as 200lbs!!

What are we looking for?

• Class A license with a clean driving record and VALID DOT MEDICAL CARD
• Minimum 3 years experience operating straight truck/tractor trailer up to 53ft
• Passing our 7 Year FADV review in the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
• Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
• Can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
• Proven longevity in past employment
• TOUCH FREIGHT EXPERIENCE!!!
