OPPORTUNITY
The primary purpose of this position is to deliver Hydrite products to our customers. This position will uphold the Hydrite “Standards of Excellence” through continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect the unit daily and report any needed repairs to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Make assigned deliveries driving a truck.
- Keep the entire unit clean and in good working order.
- Deliver and pick up products and containers as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.
- Review all shipping papers and verify that the load is correct and exactly as stated, including waste manifest and container labels. This includes proper use of BOLs, Certificates of Analyses, and waste manifests per SOPs.
- Follow assigned delivery sequence. Report any deviation immediately.
- Follow all special instructions on the pick list, bill of lading, or receiving list.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company work and safety rules, motor carrier safety regulations, state weight laws, and environmental regulations.
- Perform all duties outlined in relevant SOPs and all other duties as assigned.
- Report food safety problems to your supervisor or the SQF Practitioner upon observation of a known or potential issue.
- Uphold Hydrite’s Standard of Excellence by maintaining quality facilities and providing quality products and services to internal and external customers.
- Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety, and process training activities. Review changes/additions with your supervisor. Must be RCRA compliant.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete all paperwork accurately, neatly, and according to SOP at the end of each shift.
- May be required to cover for other employees in the plant, warehouse, or another driver as directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
- Collaborate with all departments within the plant including production, warehouse, customer service, and branch buying.
- Support effective communication across departments to ensure branch success.
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Transportation Supervisor.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid CDL and current DOT physical certification with ABCD/NH endorsement required.
- Acceptable driving record required.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to read, write, and speak English.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit/drive up to 10 hours daily.
- Occasional ability to climb stairs.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Handle a 750 drum with a barrel cart up to 40 times daily.
- Roll a 3000 cylinder the length of a trailer up to 20 times daily.
- Work flexible hours as customer orders dictate.
- Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, with a hard hat if applicable.
- No exposed jewelry or body piercings in GMP areas.
- Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Prohibition of contact lenses due to safety concerns.
- Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours daily, following SOP guidelines for facial hair.
