Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Class A CDL driver to service large and small quantity medical waste accounts across a fast-growing national network. You will ensure safe, compliant transport and deliver excellent customer service on every route.

This role emphasizes same-day servicing with no sleepover routes, hands-on route planning, pre/post-trip inspections, and accurate documentation using DOT logs.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL required.
• Minimum of 2 years of tractor trailer driving experience.
• Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine scheduled preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
• Pick up and transport regulated medical waste safely according to all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage assigned LQ and SQ customer routes, ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Review and plan daily schedules using manifests, route sheets, and other documentation.
• Ensure customers’ waste is properly packaged and ready for transport.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, communicating issues to supervisors or dispatchers.
• Complete all required paperwork, including route documentation and DOT Driver Logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Communicate route changes, discrepancies, or non-routine situations to ensure smooth coverage.
• Operate a variety of vehicles including Dry Van 53' trailers, Jockey and Roll-Off trucks, Manual Transmission, and Refrigerated Trailers (Reefer).
• Utilize ELD (Electronic Driver Log) systems for accurate reporting and compliance.
• Other duties as needed.
