Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Class A CDL long-haul driver to service LQ and SQ accounts, ensuring safe transport of medical waste and top-tier customer service. Expect 1–2 overnight routes weekly with paid training, uniforms, and strong benefits.

You will manage routes, plan daily schedules, perform pre/post trip checks, and maintain compliance with DOT regulations while operating a range of trucks including Dry Van and Reefer equipment.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL is required.
• Minimum of 2 years tractor trailer driving experience.
• Experience with Dry Van 53’ trailers, Roll-Offs, Jockey trucks, manual transmission, and Reefer.
• Valid DOT Medical Card.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.
• Willing to travel overnight 1–2 nights per week.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine preventative maintenance across assigned facilities.
• Pick up and transport regulated medical waste safely according to all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Manage assigned LQ and SQ customer routes, ensuring timely and accurate service.
• Review and plan daily schedules using manifests, route sheets, and other documentation.
• Ensure customers’ waste is properly packaged and ready for transport.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, communicating issues to supervisors or dispatchers.
• Complete all required paperwork, including route documentation and DOT Driver Logs.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Communicate route changes, discrepancies, or non-routine situations to ensure smooth coverage.
• Operate a variety of vehicles including Dry Van 53’ trailers, Jockey and Roll-Off trucks, Manual Transmission, and Refrigerated Trailers (Reefer).
• Utilize ELD (Electronic Driver Log) systems for accurate reporting and compliance.
