Job summary

California Sierra Express Inc is seeking a Class A Driver to support daily freight pickups and deliveries for time-sensitive shipments in the Greater Reno area. You will maintain logs, manifests, and incident reports in a professional manner while adhering to FMCSA and TSA standards.

The role requires a CDL, at least 23 years old, and proven driving experience with a 53' dry van. Benefits include vacation, health insurance, a 401K, and local routes with leased trucks.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum 2-year driving experience in Tractor with 53' dry van trailer.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Clean DMV record with no serious moving violations in 5 years.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and TSA background check.
• Knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations.
• Hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification preferred.
• Experience driving in adverse weather and mountains; chaining as needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned line haul route in a timely manner; 10–12 hour days possible.
• Maintain daily logs, manifests, and incident reporting.
• Practice defensive driving and follow safety policies.
• Comply with FMCSA/DOT laws and TSA/OSHA requirements.
• Operate within TSA cargo security and company safety standards.
