Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking a Shop Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of a Class 8 maintenance shop, guiding the team toward development and ensuring adherence to shop policies and procedures.

You will determine work schedules, perform evaluations, and foster best practices while keeping repairs moving and compliant. Strong leadership and mechanical aptitude are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience with Class 8 tractor maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based on priority and skill.
• Perform team member evaluations based on company schedule.
• Manage and develop shop team members.
• Ensure shop policies and procedures are followed.
• Ensure best practices are followed for repairs.
• Open and close repair orders as needed.
• Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hires, promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.
• Assign work to shop team members.
• Order inventory for shop based on guidelines.
• Receive and stock inventory for small parts room.
• Perform repairs on Class 8 equipment.
• Inspect, test, and measure completed work to verify conformance.
