Job summary

CalRecycle is seeking a Program Technician II in Sacramento for a permanent, full-time role. The position focuses on administering the Used Oil Certified Collection Center program and related grant/payment programs, with a hybrid work arrangement and mandatory CDL.

Under supervision, you will research, review, and process incentive claims and certifications, supporting program objectives and environmental goals in California.

Qualifications

Job Description And Duties

Are you passionate about tackling climate change and building a resilient, circular economy in California—one that views waste as a valuable resource? If so, CalRecycle is looking for an Program Technician II to support programs that advance California’s climate and sustain ability goals.

Under the general supervision of the Supervisor I, the Program Technician II will perform the more difficult duties associated with the administration of the Department’s Used Oil Certified Collection Center (CCC) Program related to the review and analysis of incentive payment claims for the CCC, Industrial Generator (IG), and Curbside Programs.

Key responsibilities include researching, reviewing, analyzing, and processing certification applications, used oil incentive claims, and contaminated oil reimbursement applications. The Program Technician II may also provide support and assistance to grant managers with the administration of various grant/payment programs.

Occasional travel may be required and could affect the employee’s work schedule. A valid California Driver’s License (CDL) is required. Applicants must provide their CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements or restrictions on their application. Failure to maintain a valid CDL will result in disqualification from the position.
