Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Insurance Casualty Claims Adjuster to review newly reported claims for exposure, investigate and route claims according to triage rules. You will maintain claim inventories and establish reserves while analyzing coverage and potential exposures.

Qualifications

• College degree required.
• 2-3 years insurance casualty claims experience.
• Proven record managing a high volume of low to moderate severity claims, including coverage analysis and drafting coverage letters.
• Early recognition of potential exposure.
• Experience assessing and pursuing risk transfer opportunities.
• Ability to drive claim files to best outcomes.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Ability to establish and expand working relationships with other departments.
• Experience handling excess claims.
• Technical skillsets in commonly used claims systems and general office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong ability to efficiently prioritize tasks and work autonomously as well as within a team.

• Analyze coverage and potential exposures, including liability and damages
• Establish appropriate reserves
• Communicate appropriate responses to management and underwriters on new losses
• Support underwriters and actuaries
• Manage assigned counsel
• Develop and execute strategies to control expenses and resolve litigated claims
• Represent the company’s interests in meetings and negotiations
• Proactively manage correspondence and claim files
• Maintain a current diary in compliance with company standards
• Maintain claim and industry-related expertise and communicate significant issues and relevant changes to team members
