Job summary

At-Bay, the world’s first InsurSec provider, is seeking a Cyber Claims Adjuster to support our growing client base in the United States. You will handle cyber-related insurance claims, collaborate with security and underwriting teams, and contribute to improving our automated claims engine and product offerings.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant claims experience, a valid claims adjuster license, and strong interpersonal communication skills for broker and insured interactions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of insurance claims-handling experience with cyber-related claims such as ransomware, business email compromise, business interruption, and financial fraud.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and broker interactions.
• Licensed claims adjuster; multi-state licenses desirable and ongoing education encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve cyber incidents.
• Evaluate coverage for claims and draft coverage letters.
• Build relationships across underwriting, risk, and security to inform product and underwriting decisions.
• Provide feedback to underwriting and security teams to improve claims handling and UW engine.
• Manage exposure and proactively set reserves for cyber incidents.
• Report significant claims to management and ensure timely, accurate documentation.

The team

The cyber claims team is the voice of our insured! At-Bay claims works closely with our security, cyber research, product and underwriting teams to connect the dots across rich data and improve At-Bay’s ability to underwrite cyber risk. Your impact

• Collaborate with internal team and external vendors to chart the best course for resolving cyber incidents
• Evaluate coverage for claims and draft coverage letters
• Build strong relationships across the company and act as trusted advisor for underwriting and risk function with regard to claims trends and development
• Foster feedback loop with underwriting and security team to fuel the improvement of our products and automated UW engine
• Cultivate strong relationships with brokers and insureds and deliver the excellent service for which At-Bay is distinguishing itself
• Evaluate and manage exposure for cyber incidents
• Report on significant claims to management
• Evaluate and proactively set reserves
• Focus on continuous improvement for everything we do from a claims perspective and in connection with UW and security feedback loop

Knowledge & Experience

• 3-5 years of insurance claims-handling experience; at least 30% of the claims you currently handle are in cyber insurance, including ransomware, business email compromise, business interruption, and financial fraud
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Dedication to delivering exceptional service to our customers

Education & Qualifications

• Licensed claims adjuster (good to have licenses in multiple states, and willingness to obtain more)
• College degree or equivalent experience/education
• Insurance practice experience as a paralegal also could be considered

Pay transparency paragraph: Our estimated base pay range for this role is $80,000-95,000 per year. Base salary is determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to market data, location, internal equitability, domain knowledge, experiences and skills.
