Job summary

Markel is seeking a detail-oriented individual to support claims processing and information gathering for settlements. You will act as the primary contact for borrowers, clients, and vendors, coordinating status updates and ensuring complete documentation before adjustments.

A strong office background and familiarity with claims workflows are required. Join Markel's global team and contribute to accurate file handling, responsive inquiries, and proactive information gathering to help move cases

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of general office experience required.
• Previous experience working in a claims environment required.
• Knowledge of claims processing required.
• Knowledge of Collateral Protection Insurance helpful.
• Insurtrak knowledge helpful.

Responsibilities

• Obtain, research and compile information on claims filed for settlement.
• Ensure files are accurate and complete before sending to claims adjuster.
• Serve as point of contact to borrowers, clients and various vendors for filed claims.
• Answer and respond to telephone inquiries from clients and borrowers.
• Request status updates from vendors (e.g., appraisers, skip-tracers).
• Obtain missing information on files by contacting appropriate contacts via phone, fax or email.
• Ensure files have required information and documentation before going to the adjuster.
• Assist borrowers, providers, and clients with problems or questions regarding their claims and policies.
• Document files with pertinent information.
