Job summary

Auto-Owners Insurance, a mutual insurance company, seeks a motivated Claims Intern to join our team. The role involves investigating and assembling facts, determining policy coverage, evaluating losses, and paying or denying claims while servicing agents and policyholders.

You may attend arbitrations or depositions as needed and ensure timely payments. Qualified students should be enrolled in college as juniors or seniors and possess strong communication, data interpretation, and multitasking

Job Description Auto-Owners Insurance, a top-rated insurance carrier, is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Claims Intern. The position requires the person to: Investigate and assemble facts, determine policy coverage, evaluate the amount of loss, analyze legal liability and pay or deny losses. Become familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements and forms. Work towards the resolution of claims, and may attend arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as necessary. Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner. Service the needs of agents, policyholders and others. Handle investigations by phone, mail and on-site investigations.

Rate of Pay

For this position, the anticipated starting hourly rate of pay is $20 per hour. Returning interns qualify for a higher rate of pay. This position is also eligible for a bonus opportunity.
