Job summary

COUNTRY Financial is seeking a Crop Claims Adjuster to investigate, inspect, evaluate, and issue payments for Federal Crop and Crop Hail claims in Mercer, Henry and Rock Island counties, IL. The role requires 4+ years of experience, a valid driver’s license, and a Federal Crop Certification (P2-P4).

Travel and fieldwork are expected in all weather conditions. Base pay ranges from $55,200 to $75,900 and eligibility for a Short-Term Incentive plan.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience or a combination of related experience, education and training.
• Requires a valid driver's license for all levels and a Federal Crop Certification for P2-P4.
• Must be able to climb and/or walk fields in all weather conditions; lift at least 10 lbs; travel may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Review policy and determine coverage levels; contact client within 24 hours; explain procedures; set inspection date/time; inspect damage.
• Evaluate damages, calculate payout, and issue payment where appropriate.
• Audit, perform bin measurements, drone flights, and participate in training and compliance activities.
• Communicate and negotiate with insureds, claimants, carriers and other parties involved in the claim.
• Adjust all federal crop claims using the CAP estimating system; maintain relationships with agency and Illinois Farm Bureau managers.

About The Role

As a Crop Claims Adjuster, you will investigate, inspect, evaluate, and pay Federal Crop and Crop Hail Claims. The territory for this role is the following counties in Illinois: Mercer/Henry/Rock Island.

How does this role make an impact?

• Upon receipt of claim the adjuster will review the client's policy, determine coverage levels, make contact with the client within 24 hours, explain the claims procedures, set inspection date/time, inspect the damage, determine cause of loss, evaluate the damages, calculate the amount of damages and issue payment.
• The adjuster could also be involved in auditing, bin measurements, drone flights, training, compliance, and meeting presentations.
• Communicates and negotiates with a variety of individuals regarding investigation and settlement of claims.
• This includes insureds, claimants, insurance carriers, and other involved parties.
• Adjusts all federal crop claims exclusively in the American Farm Bureau Insurance Services CAP estimating system.
• Maintains relationships with agency and Illinois Farm Bureau Managers in assigned territory.

Qualifications

Typically requires climbing and/or walking fields in all weather conditions. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs. May be required to travel with overnight or extended stay as needed. Work may extend beyond normal working hours as needed.

Base Pay Range

$55,200 - $75,900

The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience.

Incentive Pay

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
