Job summary

COUNTRY Financial is hiring a claims associate to handle life claim inquiries from beneficiaries, financial representatives, attorneys and funeral homes. You will create death claims in AWD, verify in-force policies, assign numbers, and route work to Life Examiners, while updating the AWD system and coordinating with other departments.

You will communicate with clients and teams, process mail and reports, and ensure timely, accurate information on claim requirements and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of customer service experience.
• Ability to use multiple systems to research policies and process claims.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external parties.

About the role

Answers phone calls from financial representatives, beneficiaries, attorneys and funeral homes and provide accurate information regarding claim requirements and amounts payable. Create a claim on AWD which includes checking for other in-force policies, requesting the file folder, assigning death claim numbers and completing the death claim worksheet. Assign work to Life Examiners. Working various reports to determine eligibility requests and finalize claims.

How does this role make an impact?

• Initiates and receives telephone calls and e-mails from beneficiaries, financial representatives, attorneys and funeral homes, etc., concerning Life Claims.
• Utilizes multiple systems (including but not limited to Expert system, ILA, PALLM, AWD) to acquire information given to customers and team members including: researching policies, verifying insured information and additional policies in-force, suspending policies, completing death claim notification worksheets, assigning death claim numbers and notifying other departments.
• Processes incoming mail for new and pending claims.
• Completes daily work including moving work in the AWD system to the appropriate team, updating AWD of closed claims, working other AWD reports.
• Follows up letters for Surrender Receipts and closing claims when received.
• Sends correspondence of life insurance search requests.

Qualifications

Typically requires High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of customer service experience.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $41,600-$57,200 The base pay range represents the typical range of potential salary offers for candidates hired. Factors used to determine your actual salary include your specific skills, qualifications and experience. Incentive Pay: In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a Short-Term Incentive plan.
