Job summary

USLI is seeking a dedicated claims professional to evaluate coverage, liability, and damages for each claim. You will collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders to investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims.

The role includes thorough investigations, reserve maintenance, file management, and settlements, with remote work allowed for 5 days per month. Liability expertise and multi-jurisdictional knowledge are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Analytical and creative problem-solving abilities for liability and damage evaluation.
• Strong oral and written communication with stakeholders.
• Assertive negotiation and conflict management skills.
• Excellent organization and time management for multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with insurance coverage, negligence law, and claim processes.

Responsibilities

• Coverage review: Confirm coverage and draft letters as needed.
• Thorough investigation: Liability/damages assessment, witness interviews, scene inspections.
• Independent adjusters: Manage direction and oversight during investigations.
• Liability analysis: Apply law to evaluate liability exposure.
• Reserve maintenance: Keep reserves aligned with claim development.
• File management: Negotiate settlements and coordinate defense counsel; manage files.
• Reporting: Prepare reserve authority requests and loss/coverage reports.
• Cross-team collaboration: Coordinate with underwriting, compliance, and actuarial teams.
